Rokinon’s Xeen 35mm T1.5 Lens for Sony E-Mount is a specialized cinema lens designed to deliver exceptional performance for filmmakers. With an internal focus design, the lens maintains a consistent size while focusing, minimizing the appearance of breathing when changing focus. Each lens in the Xeen series is multi-coated to enhance contrast, prevent glare, and ensure color matching to a factory standard, enabling the assembly of a cohesive lens set over time with minimal color shift.

The 35mm lens offers a slightly wide-angle view on full-frame cameras, making it ideal for capturing expansive scenes. On smaller-format cameras, it provides a tighter angle of view. The lens features dual-sided focus scales marked in feet and dual-sided iris scales, allowing for precise adjustments. The 11-bladed iris creates a rounded aperture, resulting in natural-looking highlights and beautiful bokeh. As a manual focus and iris lens, it does not have autofocus or auto iris capabilities, emphasizing its suitability for professional cinema applications.

The cinema-style focus and iris gears are uniformly positioned across the Xeen lens set, facilitating efficient lens changes when using follow focus units or iris motors. The common 114mm front diameter further enhances the ease of switching lenses, as no additional adapters or donuts are required for matte box compatibility. The focus ring offers a 200° rotation from close focus to infinity, ensuring precise control over focus adjustments.

Constructed with durable metal, the lens is designed to withstand the rigors of daily production. Dual right and left side focus and T-stop scales enable your focus puller to operate from either side of the lens without flipping the lens in the mount or facing upside-down numerals.

The lens’s front element does not rotate, making it compatible with optional clip-on matte boxes. The click-less aperture ring ensures smooth iris pulls, and the lens’s minimum focusing distance of 13 inches allows for close-up shots.
